Hi, can I move my appointment to Thursday afternoon?
Of course. You're rebooked for Thursday at 2 PM, and a confirmation is on its way.

What is an AI call center?

An AI call center is a phone system where an AI voice agent answers inbound calls, places outbound calls and hands conversations to people when needed. Tridan AI's AI Call Center runs on LiveKit and Twilio telephony, uses voices from ElevenLabs, Deepgram and OpenAI, and logs every call with a transcript for your team.

Why AI Call Center

Why do businesses use an AI call center?

Businesses use an AI call center to answer every call without adding headcount. The voice agent answers immediately, with no queue, resolves routine questions and bookings, handles many calls in parallel and routes anything that needs judgment to your team through the handoff inbox with a transcript attached.

Always Available

The voice agent answers calls immediately, with no queue, including nights, weekends and holiday peaks. After-hours callers book with you instead of dialing the next number on the list.

Fewer Routine Calls

Repetitive questions such as opening hours, order status and bookings are resolved automatically, so your team only handles the calls that need a person.

More Calls Without More Headcount

Scale call capacity without scaling headcount. One AI agent handles parallel conversations that would otherwise queue for your staff.

Humans Stay in the Loop

When a call needs judgment, the voice agent routes it to your team through the human-handoff inbox with full context, so no caller has to repeat themselves.

How It Works

How does an AI call center work?

An AI call center works in three steps: you connect a phone number, configure the voice agent with your knowledge and instructions, and go live. From then on the agent answers inbound calls, runs outbound campaigns and follows the escalation rule you configure to route calls to your team.

  1. 01

    Connect a Phone Number

Bring your existing business number through a SIP trunk or get a new one. Calls run over Twilio telephony with real-time audio powered by LiveKit.

  2. 02

    Configure Your Agent

Upload your knowledge, write instructions in plain language and pick a natural voice. We guide you through setup on a free call.

  3. 03

    Go Live: Inbound and Outbound

The voice agent starts answering inbound calls and running outbound campaigns, with every conversation logged and available to your team.

Comparison

How does an AI call center compare with other ways to handle calls?

An AI call center answers around the clock and handles parallel calls like an answering service, but it also books, qualifies and runs outbound campaigns like trained staff. Unlike an IVR menu, callers speak naturally, and every handoff reaches your team with a transcript instead of a cold transfer.

Can an AI call center run on our own infrastructure?

Yes. The full Tridan AI platform, including the voice agent, can run in your VPC or on-premises with local models through Ollama. Built-in PII detection and anonymization protect personal data in transcripts, and multi-tenant organizations keep teams, brands or clients separated inside one deployment.

  • Self-Hosted Option

Run the full platform in your VPC or on-premises, including local models via Ollama.

  • PII Detection

Built-in detection and anonymization of personal data in conversations.

  • Multi-Tenant Organizations

Separate teams, brands, or clients cleanly inside one platform.

FAQ

Common Questions About AI Call Centers

Will an AI call center replace my team?

No. An AI call center removes the repetitive calls so your team can focus on conversations that need a person. Opening hours, order status, bookings and reminders are handled by the voice agent, while anything that needs judgment is routed to your team through the human-handoff inbox with a full transcript attached. Your people stay in the loop and pick up with complete context.

How long does it take to go live?

Most setups need three things: a phone number, your knowledge content and plain-language instructions for the voice agent. We walk you through it on a free onboarding call, and you can test the agent with internal calls before pointing real traffic at it. Connecting an existing number through a SIP trunk or Asterisk-based PBX can add time depending on your carrier.

What happens when the AI can't answer?

The voice agent says so honestly and routes the call to your team instead of guessing. You define the escalation rule: by topic, when the caller asks for a person, or whenever the agent is unsure. The call lands in the handoff inbox with a transcript and summary, so whoever follows up knows exactly what was discussed.

Can we run it on our own infrastructure?

Yes. The self-hosted option deploys the full platform in your VPC or on-premises, including local models through Ollama, so call audio, transcripts and customer data stay inside your environment. PII detection and anonymization run in the same deployment. This setup suits healthcare, legal, finance and public-sector teams with strict data residency requirements.

How much does an AI call center cost?

Tridan AI offers a Free plan to start, and the other plans are quoted on a call because the price depends on your setup. The main factors are the call minutes you expect each month, the number of voice agents and phone numbers, outbound campaign volume, and whether you need the self-hosted deployment. See the pricing page for the plan overview, then book a call for a quote.

Can the voice agent book appointments in Google Calendar?

Yes. With the Google Calendar or Outlook integration connected, the voice agent checks availability during the call, books, confirms or reschedules the appointment and reads the time back to the caller. The booking appears in your calendar immediately and the call transcript records what was agreed. The same integrations power appointment reminders in outbound campaigns.

What happens when a caller asks for a human?

When a caller asks for a person, the voice agent follows the escalation rule you configure: it collects the reason and contact details, confirms that someone will follow up, and routes the conversation to your team through the handoff inbox with the transcript and a summary attached. Your team then calls back or continues the conversation with full context instead of starting over.

Does it work with my existing phone number or PBX?

Yes. You can keep your existing business number by connecting it through Twilio or a SIP trunk to an Asterisk-based PBX that we host and monitor, or get a new number in minutes. Real-time audio runs on LiveKit either way. The cloud-hosted PBX documentation explains the SIP trunk and GSM gateway options step by step.
