Plan Limits & Consumption
Every plan comes with monthly allowances for tokens, chat messages, voice minutes, and file uploads. This page explains how each allowance is consumed, which AI models your plan can use, and what happens when you reach a limit. For prices and a full plan comparison, see All Plans Overview.
What Counts Against Your Plan
Tokens
Units of text processed by AI models — roughly 0.75 words per token. Every prompt you send and every answer you receive consumes tokens from your monthly allowance.
Chat Messages
Each interaction with an AI assistant counts as one chat message, regardless of its length. Messages are counted separately from tokens.
Voice & Audio Minutes
Your monthly allocation for voice interactions, including AI inbound and outbound calls, voice chat, and audio processing.
File Uploads
Documents you upload for AI processing. Each plan sets both the number of files and the maximum size per file.
AI Model Tiers
Models are grouped into tiers, and your plan determines which tiers you can use. Premium models consume your token allowance faster than basic models, so pick the lightest model that handles your task well.

What Happens When You Reach a Limit
When a monthly allowance runs out, that capability pauses until your allowance resets at the start of the next billing cycle. Your assistants, uploaded files, and settings stay exactly as they are — nothing is lost.
- Automatic reset: tokens, chat messages, and voice minutes reset every month on your billing date.
- Instant upgrades: moving to a higher plan applies immediately, so you get the larger allowance right away.
- File limits: to add files beyond your plan's cap, remove files you no longer need or upgrade for more capacity.
Getting the Most From Your Allowance
- Use basic models for routine tasks and switch to premium models only when a task needs advanced reasoning.
- Keep prompts focused — shorter conversations with clear instructions consume fewer tokens per answer.
- Upload only the documents your assistants actually need, and remove outdated files to free up upload capacity.
